Northbridge Fan

Hey,

I recently noticed my northbridge fan is quite noisy and would like to replace it. I have an evga 790i ultra sli motherboard. The fan that is currently on it runs at 5000rpm. Would it be ok to buy a fan that has lower rpm to reduce the noise? I do overclock though so I'm wondering if the lower rpm will have a significant amount of effect on the heat.

You can buy chipset heatsinks, some without fans (although you need good airflow in your case for those).

yea my heatsink runs from my north to my south bridge so I would have to replace both, I'm just looking for a fan.
