Laptop to desktop

Hey,
I am building a new system, if I put my ssd drive from my laptop in the new build will the os work, or is it possible to copy the entire laptop ssd to another ssd drive and will the os and programs work?

That depends on what type of OS you've got. If it is an OEM Windows version, then it will not because the OEM versions are tied to the motherboard that they are first installed with. Otherwise, should be OK, although it will have to load a number of drivers for your motherboard, etc.
