Ok, so i put everything together and when i went to boot, ABSOLUTELY nothing happened (no fans started, etc.)

So i decided to try breadboarding.

My components:
Core i7 920
EVGA E758 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188039 (has mobo speaker)

First, i plugged in only the cpu, hsf, 24 pin + 8 pin, and psu. When i switch the psu on, the standby blue light comes up (next to 24).

Then, i try pressing the bios power/cmos/reset buttons on the lower left hand side of the mobo and NOTHING happens again... no fans spin, no beeps

Does this mean my mobo/cpu/psu is dead?

thanks

Oh, and PSU= 750 watt PC Power and Cooling silencer

on a side note: the green led on the mobo did NOT come on when i flipped the switch

Yep CPU Fan is plugged in. I doubt anything is shorting but i don't really know what to look for (its not burning and its sitting on wood). I don't have another PSU since this is my first newer computer (have been using laptops). I feel the PSU is ok since it powers up the blue led, but that might be presuming too much.

well, i've done that in a way when i had my pc button connected, the bare bones still didn't whirl.

Thanks All, i guess i have a DOA Mobo or PSU.

Is there anyway to test a PSU with just a voltmeter? My parents suggested using one, but i'm skeptical.
or am i just better of RMA'ing both
