I have been reading posts for the last hour but haven't been able to hit on a thread where someone has my same problem.
My problem is this: When I power on the computer, the CPU fan runs for about 3 seconds and then nothing. The HD doesn't spin up nor is there any "life" to the computer. It's all new components so I was hoping I didn't get any components that were dead-on-arrival.
Details: Asus M2N68-AM + AMD 9600 CPU + 500W power supply + 4 GM memory + SATA hard drive.
The only thing I can think I may have done is I dropped the CPU as I was installing it. I very, very carefully bent the pins back and it went into the socket without a problem.
There is power to the motherboard because the green LED light is on and the CPU fan is alive (for just a few secs).
What do you recommend I try? Unfortunately, I don't have another power supply to put in it but that is my first hunch as to the root of the problem.

if you have then read the trouble shooting thread pinned to the top of the mb
Thanks. I was missing some standoffs. I should have read the FAQ first!
