ya so i wanted to know how much of a difference there is between g0 and m0 stepping,mainly for the q6600?do u get any performance difference?

They don't have a difference in performance,the G0 stepping OC's better though

G0 is a later version of the processor with any issues with earlier versions fixed. And like Maziar said it will overclock better.

The Q6600 stepping jumped from B3 to G0 (don't know what happened to C, D, E, and F :) ). The B3's were OK overclocker's, but the G0's were great. I think "great" here means that 50% OC's were not uncommon.

That's kinda like the Xbox 360 launch video from Red vs. Blue. "Xbox 360? When did I miss versions 2 through 359?"

And I overclocked my G0 Xeon to 3.45Ghz from the 2.4, so that figure is somewhat close.
