well im looking at CPU choices at first i was going with I5 but went over budget but what CPU would u choose

the intel core 2 duo e8500

also which mobo would you recommend with what RAM

Neither. Both are overpriced for a dual core.

Do you live near a Microcenter? They have cpus for very cheap prices.

If not, and you absolutely can't get an i5, build, then get these:

Q8400 for $150, overclock it easily to 3.0GHz+

Neither. Both are overpriced for a dual core.

Do you live near a Microcenter? They have cpus for very cheap prices.

If not, and you absolutely can't get an i5, build, then get these:

Q8400 for $150, overclock it easily to 3.0GHz+

so how much would a i5 be at microcenter also what mobo would u recommend with it

i5s are $150 at microcenter, i7 860s and i7 920s are $200 at microcenter.

Q8200s are $130, Q9550s are ~$160, etc


Motherboard...go with what you can afford. Anything by Asus or Gigabyte are good.
Intel's own motherboards are pretty solid as well.

OK and i was wondering are evga video cards good also i cant seem to find i5's on micro-center site
