How the heck do i get a hang of this info?

I just bought a Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 with a fsb of 800Mhz. Set it in place and when i boot it starts up and shuts down immediately again and does this in an endless loop.

Help me here or my PC will get hurt soon.

If you are asking for the Front Side Bus for that motherboard, it is 1333/1066MHz.


Try this CPU instead for an inexpensive replacement CPU.

Have you checked your BIOS version ? the Asus website states that two versions will work

2001 - release version
2104 - BETA version

I suspect you need to up date your BIOS.

ok, cheers ill have a look about updating my BIOS if that wont work, ill get the other CPU

Bought the new processor as we didn't wanna update the bios if not necessary and with the Intel Core2 Duo E7500 we're having the same issue, this time we're sure that we have the right FSB.

Should this be a BIOS update? I'm wobbling here cause i know that BIOS should preferibly be left untouched as it can cause more trouble then i already have

can you get in the bios to see what the FSB is running at and you should update the bios
