4GB Corsair Dominator 1066mhz
HX620 Corsair 620 watt psu

What i want to know is that if:

bfg GTX 260 oc 55nm
OR
evga sGTX275 superclocked

will run games like farcry 2 at 1920 x 1080 coz thats my screens resolution.

I plan to go for sli.but i have a corsair HX 620 watt power supply.

GTX 260 each is 200pounds.
GTX 275 each is 220 pounds.
GTx 285 each is 330 pounds.

I am not in uk,so cant bargain on price. Considering my power supply . what do you guys recommend.

OK. What about this card? will one of this card do a :

Evga GTX 275 Superclocked 896MB

CRYSIS :

1920 x 1080
Very High Settings
2X AA / 2X FSAA

with a Hx620.

Can i get playable framerates. lets say 24+.?

At that resolution with very high settings you don't need 2xAA or 2xFSAA and wont be playable. It would be hard for you to see or till the difference.

Don't get all hung up on exact settings in Crysis. You'll have very nice settings that will play smooth and you won't see any real difference between what you can play at and what some more expensive card would do.

so that means that i should go for :

Evga GTX 275 Superclocked now (Sli in future) on a Corsair 620Watt?

for V.High Crysis at 1080p resolution ( No AA/FSAA) giving me smooth gameplay?

Not so sure about the future though

DX11 is coming out, but its not going to be such a hype at first but it will be later on

consider a 9800GT that you could later on use in physX?

When is DX11 coming out? is there any real performance increase? who knows?
not many games came in dx10. after 2 years DX12 will come out. then what? everyone upgrades every year to a new card that costgs $500 like gtx295?

What about the XFX GTX 280 1 GB 512bit.

Since there is only 30 pounds expensive.

Or the evga gtx 275 super clocked 896mb 448bit . will beat it.

Guys these are my marriage gifts. so i gotta choose wisely .

In the case of marriage gifts, you may wish to consider something that has more to do with your new wife than with your solitary gaming. Even if, like me, you got really lucky and found a wife who accepts your computer / gaming hobby, be sure to accept and encourage her hobbies with equal vigor, and make sure there are plenty of things you share too.

Yeah i do.
Why the wifes dont encourgae gaming etc?
Mayeb she would play multiplatyer with me.

Anyway what about GTX 280 in Sli with HX620. Will it do ?
Better than GTX 275 evga superclocked on same PSU?

Over a long period of time, I wouldn't suggest it. The HX 620 is a wonderful psu, but you run the risk of running it over 60% load for extended amounts of time. The GTX 280 uses more power than the 275 since it's on the old 65nm core.

2 GTX280s will definitely pass the level an HX620 can supply, a 750TX is recommended for GTX275s in SLI and they draw less power than the GTX280. 2 GTX280s alone at full load can pull over 450, which doesnt leave much left for the other components. A single one it will handle just fine and should be sufficient for your resolution.

yes...what jtmoney said...go for the gtx 275.... and if u really need the increase in a year's time, you can buy a new GPU, and don't worry bout SLi-ing it...

why does everyone need massive SLi x3, with 1000w PSU, CPU @ 4.2ghz??!! just get a gtx 275, and it will run the game u want to play (far cry 2) and not crysis (cause its an old game)...and ull be right

Well.... some people really enjoy games, and sometimes gameplay isn't enough
you want to be more into the game...
higher graphics
higher everything

if you want to upgrade you don't want to throw out the old PSU

am I right?

but a corsiar 850 would do for basically everything u could throw at it, except for maybe 3x 285 sli.... or 3x 295 ... with an i7 OCed highly.......

in ur case...id say all peripherals are basically the same as when u started? the g9, the razer, the PSU, the case...maybe even the monitor/massive screen u probably have

3x GTX 295???

R U HIGH ON CRACK???? jk

you can only do dual sli

but a system like that will consume about 1000W+ on load, then theres hard drives and other stuff

what do you mean me? my computer uses about 700W full load, and I only bought my 1000W power supply because I knew that I would upgrade in the near future which might possibly be the i9 depending on the pricing

basically you only want to buy a 1000W+ power supply if you want to run new great hardware, but don't have the money to max out with sli, liquid cooling and etc
or if you want to future proof yourself for new hardware that will come out

but the 850 is good and more than enough for everyone....just not for some... that's all...

and for the OP, the 750tx should be enough, maybe the 850 if he wants to SLi and OC
