How about a review of the new Epson printers?

Or won't Cannon allow it?

I agree. THG only made a slight reference to the Epson C70 in an older review. It did mention that the Canon was still much more economical when considering cost per page. I would also like to see more complete reviews of printers, but I don't know if THG is to blame or Epson. You can't expect THG to buy everything themselves, and maybe Epson is much more stingy when it comes to giving away press samples. Or maybe they aren't necessarily stingy, but Canon and HP are overgenerous.

As for the comment about Canon not allowing it, I thought it was funny, but I really don't think there is any conspiracy with Canon and THG.

I have still gone for a Canon myself though. I might have been swayed to get an Epson instead if there was more information to be found on them... or maybe I would have just been more convinced to stick with my choice of a Canon. Either way, information doesn't hurt.

My interests in printers for the last few years has been primarily in the area of digital photography. I really don't care about black and white text printing or speed, since I've been surrounded by high speed laser printers. With the proliferation of digital cameras, I would think many people would also be interested in a critical analysis of the photo printing capabilities of various Ink Jet printers. One of the printers I'm very interested in is the new (6 months old) Epson 960.

I read a review on Cnet I believe that gave very high marks to Canon's i850 and Epson's C985 (?). Both cost around $350 retail. I went to a CompUSA store and they had sample prints from several printers. I'm no expert but what a saw from a couple under $200 printers were mighty nice. Not as good as my Nikon on Kodak paper.

I know enuff to be dangerous.
