Windows doesnt show converted DVD drive after connecting IDE SATA adaptor

Connected IDE/SATA adaptor to IDE DVD-RW in place of DVD CD Rom player which was "F" Drive. Now it shows nothing. Power works the drawer, but that's it. Device Mgr does not see this DVD-RW drive. Is a new HP p6120t Desktop.

  1. Clearly there's an issue between the data connector between the drive and your mobo. Suggest you try another adapter.

Agreed, those things are horrid. One way I used to get around this was to use a SATA expansion card that had an IDE port on it.
