A few problems with PC. Is that possible, that my HDD is damaged?

I have one topic in the MB's section, but there is a one problem with slooowly working HDD.
Could you please, look at my topic, and tell me, is that possible that my HDD is damaged?

Boot to the Command prompt and type in CHKDSK This will fix any errors your hard drive may have. It will not hurt any files on the drive. If this don't fix it then I would say your drive is bad.

Also update the BIOS. You can download tools from your drive manufacturer to test your hard drive and give you some sort of error, like S.M.A.R.T.
