I'm not sure if this is the right place but I just wanted to ask if bad memory can lead to bluescreens even if you aren't gaming or anything.

Even if I'm watching a vid on youtube I'll still get it.

I tried to install a game and I still got it.

I heard that sometimes norton antivirus programmes will cause it to blue screen but I wanted to know if I should change my RAM or something else.

I got a m8300f pc from Hp (I won't buy pc's from companies like this because they lock their bios)

I added a Sapphire 4670 1gb to it

Also when it bluescreens it lets out a high pitched noise.

Your power supply might be inadequate; some hp systems come with 250w. But I'm just guessing; depends on alot of factors, or maybe you have a bad stick of ram.

I added the 4670 half a year ago actually. It's just recently that it has been acting up.

It seems to be getting better for some reason. I haven't had a bluescreen and I was playing CoH.
