The contenders:

GeForce 4 MX440

or

ATI Radeon™ Xpress 200 integrated graphics card

... The integrated card is newer, but the MX440 is dedicated. I'm not playing games, but would like to do some multimedia stuff ... hulu, youtube, pictures, play mp3s, play movies on the computer, etc.

Well the GeForce is only a DX8 card, I think. The Radeon is DX9, but doesn't have shader model 3. But games are not what you care about anyway.

Why do you have to make this awful choice? There have gotta be some cheap AGP cards(if that is the problem) that would better suit you for any of the tasks you mention.

I'm an idiot. The MX440 is an AGP card and the mobo I'm using is PCIe.

You are right... these are horrid choices. But, they're free choices. Thanks for the reply!

Moderators, please delete this thread. It only serves to further prove my idiocy. Thank you. :pfff:

I'm sure you could afford $10 or so. Check ebay and pick up something that might be semi-useful.

Well, you could just get it and see if it is faster when you throw the Mx440 in. . .
