Hello.I have a PC at hand with an almost full 500GB HDD.
I want to add extra space,so I was planning to buy a new 1TB HDD,is it possible to connect the new drive without formatting the old one,making a 500GB C and 1TB D drive?I'm using Windows 7
If possible,are there any further conditions like the RPM speeds being the same,etc?

Thanks.

Yes you can - not a problem.

When adding a drive, you don't need to format your current OS.

And as long as you have;

a) space in your case,
b) a free sata cable (if not, you need to buy a splitter)
c) a data cable (won't always come with the drive)
d) a spare SATA port on your motherboard

..you'll be able to upgrade.

You don't need to have the same RPM or make or anything like that - the drives work completely separate from each other.

I'd recommend looking at a Western Digital 1TB green drive as they're pretty cheap and won't let you down.
