I'm building a Dell Studio 17 laptop that I will use for a work station. I will be programming and also running two Microsoft Virtual Machines at the same time on this machine.

I can choose between two CPU's either the i7-720QM or i7-820QM. The i7-820 cost $350 more. Will I see enough extra performance to be worth the extra $350?

$350 is definitely not worth it. You would benefit a lot more by going for extra memory and solid state drives.

Well the difference isn't much between them,it was worth it if the price difference was something like $100 but for $350 its not worth it since as i said the difference isn't much
