Are SLI boards standardised ?

i was wondering as long as the case is big enough will any 2 cards work in SLI on any SLI mobo asuming the mobo its self offers no obstruction.

So long as the GPU's are the same then yeah pretty much, although some people are experiencing issues with newer cards on some of the older mobos it seems.
