I can see my Maxtor external driver in both device manage and my computer but every time I try to access it, it gave me 'I/O Device error' message. I also ran Disk Check in Device Manager and it says the disk is ok. Please help.
Maybe it needs the driver updated. Try disabling the external drive (Maxtor) in Device Manager, then re-start the computer with the external drive connected. Windows will "find" the new device and install the proper drivers.
