Hi there,

I have PC with below configuration:

CPU - Intel C2D E7200
MoBo - Zotac n610i/G7050
RAM - 2 GB - DDR2 - 800 (I'll add 2GB more that's max that my mobo takes)
HDD - WD 640GB (16MB Buffer)
Case/PS - Generic 400W (of strictly OK quality. Yes, I'll upgrade if required)

Request you to suggest
(a) the most powerful Video card this conf can support (& really work)
(b) Optimum level Video card considering that I play games only occasionally and mostly PC is used by my family for watching Videos, editing photos / videos etc (say, I wish to keep PS the same for now).

Thanks for you time and ideas.

If you wish to stay with your current PSU then go for HD 4650...

Anyone else?

The 4650 or 4670 chipset cards may work fine with your old power supply, and are affordable. Read some newegg reviews, and look for free shipping or rebates. I've been on newegg's email promos list for awhile (you have to register), and some of their deals are pretty good. Got my low end card for $20 after rebate with free shipping.

HD4670 was the one I originally considered, but then it may not run many games at good settings. I guess, it is perfect GPU for an HTPC though.
I am now seriously considering a good quality PSU and HD5750 or HD5770.
After some time, I plan to have two machines, one for basic, day-2-day use with my current hardware, replacing processor with E3400 and use my current processor E7200 for a graphics machine.
Any thoughts on this please.
