Hi, I'm building my first Gaming PC and I pretty much have the parts picked out, but I would like some feedback on them

I already have a monitor, keyboard/mouse, and speakers.

If you are suggesting a build, try to keep it in the $800-$900 range. Also, note that in the parts I am choosing, don't add up the prices you find online because I'm using mail-in rebates.

I might want to overclock later on and I'm not thinking of Crossfire/SLI.

CPU: I'm trying to choose between AMD Phenom II X4 940 or 955.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P
RAM: OCZ Reaper 4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 1066
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Radeon HD4870 1GB
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500GB
Optical Drive Samsung S223F DVD/CD Combo writer
Case: Coolermaster RC-690
PSU: OCZ ModXStream 700W
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit w/ Windows 7 coupon
(Is this cheaper than buying Windows 7 outright)
Wireless Adapter: Recertified Linksys WMP300N (Please don't forget to critique this)

My monitor is a Acer 23" Widescreen. I'm planning to play games like World in Conflict and Supreme Commander at Med-High settings.

Thanks.

The 945/955/965 use AM3/DDR3 whereas the 920/940 use AM2+/DDR2. If you want to be able upgrade go with one of the former processors. The 945 is basically the same piece of silicon as the 955 but with a locked multiplier and lower price.

You'll want that PSU if you want to crossfire in the future (it has enough watts and more importantly enough connectors). The motherboard is AM3/DDR3, and the HDD has a single platter, all of which should help improve performance a bit.
