APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: within 3 months
BUDGET RANGE: USD $1700

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (don't do much else with it right now)

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Mouse

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: I am preferential to Intel for this build but would be open for either (Intel vs. AMD)

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe (still mostly a novice, have built one computer in the past, didn't OC)
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe (have used 1 in the past, so not sure how much improvement from 1 to 2 is)

MONITOR RESOLUTION: As I will need a monitor, higher is always better, but within budget, probably looking for at least 22"

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Preferably no window on the case, minimize sound, heat, light. I am open to SSD or HDD. I use a headset exclusively for sound, so speakers are not required - but might be interested in a new headset (with mic). I have an iMac I use for music, photos, and the like, and currently use bootcamp. I will be keeping the iMac. As noted in the Thread Title, I would like to purchase Windows 7 64. (the cost of a copy of windows is above the 1700, so that won't bite into the budget).

Thank you!

Change the:

Graphic cards to Gtx 275 SLI

Corsair 850w Psu

and memory to DDR3 1600 - Prices have gone down

That leaves you around 250 for monitor :

Overall a decent monitor with all the inputs you'll probably ever use.
Again, it wouldn't hurt to read the Budget build articles on this site before asking for help, it'd be much easier to give us a list of parts to work with first.

as for a headset, I suggest the Logitech G35, or Steelseries 5hv2. Those are just my preferences.

Okay, so I took the time to put something together. The total, including a full copy of Windows 7 ($320, hoping I catch the deal prices when they come around again) is $1810.80. Let me know if there are suggestions for any changes. I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I am unsure if I want to go dual monitors (with smaller ones) or one larger one. I will primarily be using this for gaming, so not sure if two monitors would provide any real benefit. Also, the current monitor might be a little excessive. I am unsure whether to go 10000rpm, 7200rpm, or SSD, fast boot times, gaming, cool, and quiet would be my considerations.
