HI,

I have a 480w power supply and wanted to know if I will be able to put an Nvidia GTX 260 core 216 graphics card in. I heard that it requires somewhere in the region of 30a on the 12v rail? If so I think I should be able to run it seeing as its the 55nm version. Also I heard it requires a 500w PSU and seeing as mine is a 480w I think it should be fine?

Here's my power supplys specs:

+3.3v: 25a
+5.0v: 30a
+12v1: 20a
+12v2: 18a
-12.0v: 0.8a
+5Vsb: 2.5a

Thanks for your time

I don't recognize the brand but I would give it a run. It's not what I would go out and buy but since you have it it's worth trying it and seeing if it works. I would go into it with the idea you may have to upgrade the psu if it doesn't hold up. If you aren't prepared for that then maybe you should hold out until you are.

It's likely the 260 will come down in price after the directx 11 cards are released anyway...

That s a really bad PSU in the vid, lol. Mine doesn't look anything like that. It has a large 120mm fan at the bottom to cool it but thanks for the vid

I wouldn't just try it. Generic POS PSUs tend to take other parts with them when they die. An Antec Earthwatts 430 is only $60 right now. Corsair and OCZ have decent models at that price point also.

Thanks for that, didn't know. It kinda sucks but hopefully it comes with two in the box or I'll have to go buy one. There is no way I am going to boot my machine untill both connectors are connected.

I don't know if I m correct or not but you can use 4pin to 6 pin connector if the PSU lacks one.

Yh thats the adaptor I was thinking of buying if it doesn't have any. I won't overclock it untill I get a new PSU.

Thanks to all for the help!
