We are trying to set up a TV to display powerpoints from a laptop, the Laptop is a small Dell Inspiron with an S-Video output as well as VGA out.
We have a VGA cable already running through the wall (left over from a projector) that we would like to re use, rather than running another cable, because the TV does not have VGA in.

I've seen VGA to S-video converters, but with a lot of bad reviews saying to be sure video card has tv out. Which i think ours must since it has S-video output.

Can i use the VGA cable from the laptop with an S-video converter into the tv? Or do i need to run it out of the laptops s-video > converted to VGA > converted back to S-video > into the TV.

All thoughts and recommendations appreciated!
