well the gpu can handle temps up to around 100c without any damage so it could be shutting off to prevent damage but it could also be something else overheating? cpu? do u have good airflow in your case?

Sounds like a heatsink problem

That is VERY hot for idle temperature, sure it can handle up to 100 degrees Celsius.
But even at 88 degrees, over time that destroys graphics cards. (Quickly)

Buying a new graphics card probably the best option available, i do not reccomend buying a new Graphics Card heatsink for it, since you probably will not get your moneys worth, not to mention the risk of the heatsink not fitting your card.

I highly disagree.

how long do you have this card? maybe you can try to re-apply thermal paste on your card

Better airflow inside the case can really help in controlling the temps.

You may even see a ~10c decrease.

well i dont have alot of airflow inside and i did try to re apply thermal

Just open the side cover of your case.
See if it lowers the temps or not.

try opening your side panel

nothing lowers still on 80c

are those idle temp? my suggestion is try to cool of your pc case using some fan. (without the side panel)
judging from your last message you already re-apply thermal paste on your card so check your heatsink as well and make sure its not loose.

ok i think i got lowerd the GPU by cleaning dust in the video card i just had to take out that plastic thing until i got to the fan and clean some dust and now its 70c

It should be around 50-60c.
My 9800Gt idles at 53c.

Max the fan speed.

Reply to shubham1401

i max the fan and now its 61 and the fan isnt very noisy when its on max!!

Reply to Omer1000

61c seems pretty normal to me.

If you want some more drop then you can try to fit a case fan on the side panel of the case(There are some holes there to fit one).

That may further drop the temps.
But 61c is also fine.

well thx you all everything is working fine now (:
