Help in overclocking

Hi, i need help in overclocking my amd phenom 2 x4 960t processor 3.00ghz black edition . i have a gigabyte (970-ud3) board and a kühler h2o 620 cooler. OS is win 74-bit with gtx 560ti right now i have my system running at 3485mhz and FSB at 205mhz. i believe it could be more then what i have.

Ok , i download amd overdrive and i got a overclock of 3722mhz with pc temps in the low 30s. what speed do the 3722mhz equal in GHZ ? sorry, i am some what new at this.

Sounds like you have room to OC it a bit further. 3722MHz is 3.7Ghz (1000MHz to 1GHz). My experience with AMD Overdrive utility wasn't impressive. The program overclocked my CPU to run only 200MHz faster. I would say you can safely set your CPU multiplier up a notch, and then increase it in increments of half steps. I'm not very experienced with this, but when your CPU is running too hot or you can't boot anymore, put your CPU multiplier back on a stable setting.

You can further OC your CPU by giving it extra voltage, but you should read some of the guides online on how to do that with your board specifically. There are also a lot of guides online for your Black Edition processor, one is even stickied in this forum.
