I am looking at a Samsung 2494 monitor that has 1920 x 1080 res. (Costco for $220). I am not sure what resolutions todays game support, I have been running 1680 x 1050 for the last couple years and have been overall very happy with it.
I also know this is 10:9 which would be cool for watching a movie once in a great while.
I want something with a fast response time - which this would do. I don't really care about viewing angle because I will be sitting straight in front of it. Could someone offer guidance on gaming resolutions?
PS I am running a GTX 260 so it should be able to push 1920 x 1080 with a little lowered detail.
1) What is the best gaming resolution? Is 1920 x 1080 a good gaming resolution, or do games even support it?
2) What would $300 get me nowadays?
3) What would I gain spending $600 on a different monitor over the $220 for this one?
Please keep in mind I don't care about viewing angle, but I do want a good clear picture and fast response time for FPS stuff, although I am pretty casual and play mostly RTS lately.
