I could get past it and go into safe mode. Re-installed XP Home and got "amsint.sys file is corrupted". Should I try re-installing XP again or what? It is a file for AMD SCSI/NET Controller Added by Microsoft And required at startup. Strange it would be corrupted since you just reinstalled. Run sfc /scannow from command prompt, and insert Windows cd when prompted, or boot from the CD and repair-install. Either way should correct corrupt sys files. Can't find your answer ? Ask !
