I'm currently on 10x multiplier, at 266

so its running at 2.66ghz

I am thinking of dropping multiplier to 9x and changing 266 to 333

What do you reckon?

I have never done this before

Even if you don't drop the multiplier, setting the FSB to 333 should be doable. I would suggest read one of the many c2d overclocking guides that are out there. Just so you know what your getting into. Then maybe post up your system specs and ask something specific.

THanks for the reply.

But is the 266 the FSB because the BIOS doesnt say it's the FSB?

I just rebooted and it is called "cpu host frequency" and it's equal 266.

Sorry for being dumb but is that the front side bus? I assume it is and it's different in each BIOS. And does changing it effect the RAM speed?

Ran your ram at 1:1 (@400 default) and if not strong from riase fsb, loosen timing ram to 5-5-5-20, also raise voltage ddr2 to 1.9-2.0v
Disabled all feature (eist/speedsteep, c12, spread spectrum), pcie at 100.
