I am building my 2nd computer right now and need help choosing a motherboard. Here is a list of the components I have chosen to use. I am not sure how many sata ports and pci... ports etc that I need. I don't want to overspend on a board, but I want to make sure there is space for all of my components. I already bought the case and power supply on special, so please don't hassle me on them, but if there are other items that you would disagree with let me know. And please no fan boy bla bla bla. I am all about bang for my buck and components that wont break down.

-cooler master rc-690 case
-CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC

Gigabyte P55 UD series. Just find the one that has the exact options you want. Gigabyte and specifically Gigabyte UD ( ultra durable ) series motherboards are solid and arguably Gigabyte and ASUS are the top quality brands on the market. I just like Gigabyte personally but you really can not go wrong with either.

thanks for the input. I was looking at an Asrock board, but maybe I should focus more on the big brands for quality and durability.

I would suggest you to take a single 5850 instead of two 5770 as crossfire isn't best with the 1156, both have similar performance but with 8x the performance drops like 5-10% (for both cards) so a single 5850 would be better than 5770 in crossfire (note that price is also similar). So with that in mind take eather a Asus p7p55d or Gigabyte p55-ud3 / p55-ud4 also Asrock Extreme isn't that bad as you mentioned.

The 5850 is a better idea, but I only plan on buying one 5770 right now and the other after either the prices drop considerably or if newer games wont run properly. Thanks for the input.
