I'm sure i'll live if you don't believe in me ;)
Budget in NZ dollars is stated up there with the budget in US dollars my friend, $1500 - $1600 NZ.
My TV which i'll be using as a monitor is 1080P.
Thanks for the input :)

Im glad you can stretch it to $1600
its much easier just to work in kiwi dollars

So

your

hard drive
case
4890
dvd

ditch the PSU for an antec earthwatts 650w which is the cheapest decent 650 watt psu

Its not worth buying the last of intels C2Quads and you cant afford i7/i5 so the cpu

AMD Phenom X4 945
gigabyte 770T-UD3P
cant do crossfire , but then you wont need it any time soon with a 4890 and a 1080p panel

G.SKILL 4GB kit (2GB x 2) DDR3-1333
http://www.uec.co.nz/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=25944
we dont have a great range of ddr3 ram but this is about the best cost/performance available at $135
timing 8-8-8-21 and 1.65 volts is pretty good

Total ~ 1575

no , dont be tempted by the cheaper cm psu its rubbish in a box

I like the antec 300 more .That would bring you under $1500

6 gig ram kits are for intel triple channel motherboards . And this site did an article a while back on how much ram systems need to perform . They used 3, 6 and 12 gig and basically got a a tiny gain when they went from 3-6 gig and nothing at all when they used more
4 gig is plenty so a 2 x2 gig kit is what you want

The Phenom 955 is the exact same part as a 945 but its clocked 200 MHz higher . If you read the overclocking guides on this site you will see its very easy to make that adjustment yourself so paying $80 NZ extra is a bit dubious

You'd probably want to add a better cpu cooler at some stage if you plan on overclocking much more than that
