Hello,

My name is David and
am currently experiencing
a technical problem with
my Dell 500(Vostro) laptop.
By the way am running Windows 7,
Professional on it. Just recently
I turned-on my computer and to my
dismay displayed was a "Read disk error occured"
on my screen. Any help will be
highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The first thing to check is that you don't have a floppy disk/USB drive/DVD/CD in the machine which it's trying to boot from. If you have take them out. Failing that it means the boot partition has become corrupted, put your windows 7 dvd in the drive, boot from that and it will give you options to repair the OS. If even that doesn't work you've probably got a broken hdd.
