Toshiba flash drive not working

I have a Toshiba 8 gb flash drive that just stopped working. The light no longer comes on, and my computers don't recognize it. I need to recover all the files on the drive (all documents). PLEASE HELP!!

have you tried it in another computer or USB Port, it's rare for a flash drive to just die but if it did i can't think of any simple or even multi-step way to get your information off the NAND flash chip. If i were you I'd just try another computer, or go into the diskmgmt under windows to see if it even shows up as a device. It is possible that there was a power surge but chances are that something else would be damaged too.
