so I'm trying to answer a homework question but i am pretty lost right now with it. If anyone could shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

Here's the question:

Describe the structure of IP addresses within a class B network, if the subnetid is 2 bits, and the hostid is 14bits.
What would the subnet mask be for this network?

thanks!

Mask 255.255.192.0 represents 18 bits, leaving the last 14 for host ids.
