What is the major difference between the 2 chips? I am looking at the 2 to decide which laptop to buy. I am looking for speed and power

Get the T6600. The SU is clocked at 1.3Ghz, whilst the T6600 is clocked at 2.2Ghz. Almost a Ghz faster. The only difference is the SU has 3MB cache opposed to the 2MB cache the T6600 has.

But don't let that fool you. T6600 is the way to go.

^Agreed. HOWEVER, the Max TDP on the SU is just 10W, compaired to the 35W for the T6600.

Depending on what you do, the SU may be an option, esp. if battery life is important.

But is the 1.3 GHz rating per core, actually producing 2.6 GHz, making the SU7300 faster? Or am I way off here?

^ YOU CAN'T ADD the Core speeds like that. The speed rating is for ALL the cores. If I did that, I'd have a 30.4 Ghz i7 920 (see sig)

The T6600 is a dual core as well, so both of them have two cores. Also, as Shadow said, you can't add the core speed like that.

OK, let me elaberate in your languge. The SU is 1.3Ghzx2 = 2.6Ghz and the T6600 is 2.2x2= 4.4Ghz. So the T6600 is almost double the SU.

(OK techies, don't go on a flame war. I'm just explaining it in the languge the average joe would understand, I know thats now how it works.)
