Whats this build good for?

Just to let you guys know, i've never made a pc build before so i'm probably gonna get some "wtf are you doing, that build will die in days!" or "thats not compatible with that mobo!" (maybe i'm just being negative) but anyway, yeah.. just stopping by to ask you guys if my $900 will atleast work at all, and feel free to make changes.

I'm not gonna be a "hard-core" gamer, but occasionally when i get bored i just wanna load up that good stuff like Fallout 3, crysis maybe (of course not at max settings, but who knows whatever i made, might do the trick ;p) bleh anyway here goes:

case + psu combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.231303

mobo + cpu combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.241196

hdd + os combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.235895.22-136-218

GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150359

RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104098

DVD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151175

Planning on keeping my current monitor, old non-wide flat screen 19inch hp monitor at 1280-1024 res
keeping my mouse n maybe buying a new keyboard but i'm not worrying about that stuff right now.

Again, this was pretty much a minimum or no-brainer as i'm such a noob at this kind of stuff (a first time), so feel free to correct me, just go easy and don't fly rocks at me @_@

More about whats build good
  1. edited, forgot the gpu. makes it a $900 system now o.o
  2. For 1280x1024 just get a 4850, it will play everything on high at good frame rates.

Get a SATA DVD burner, and swap the processor/Mobo/ram for these

Comes out to $325 before $15 MIR, making it only $22 more than the processor/motherboard combo you have posted.
