Setting up the FTP service on my PC

Hi,

I am trying to get an FTP service going on my home pc to
be accept multiple large size files of pictures from
family and friends. I am not too familiar with this
Operating System or how to secure it so only those few
people can send pictures to me without compromising the
security to the rest of my machine. If anyone can help I
would be most greatful.
