I have tried everything and I have been having no luck getting Windows Server 2008 to boot with all 4 of the 8360 CPUs in the mohterboard.

The system will boot and is stable with 3 CPUs but will power the system off during boot if the 4th one is put in.

The system will load, boot and is stable with 4 CPUs if I use Linux but not Server 2008.

Any help would would be greatly appreciated.

System Specs:

Tyan S4980G2NR Motherboard
4 - Opteron 8360 SE CPUs
16 Gig ECC Reg RAM
2 - 500 Gig HDs in RAID 0
ATI 4870 X2 with Supplemental Power Supply
1100 Watt Power Supply

Thanks

That does sound pretty odd. Only real suggestion I can think of is are there any BIOS updates available for your Tyan board? Otherwise, you might have better luck finding an answer on microsoft's forums for a specific Server 2008 issue.

It is very strange and I can't seem to get a fix.

I might have to open a support ticket with MS but really do not want to pay to find the fix if possible.

Does anyone know of a good MS Server forum???? I have tried a few with no luck yet.

Tyan's own web site (http://www.tyan.com/tech/OS_Support_AMDWins.aspx) states that board hasn't been tested with Server 2008. Best bet would be to wait until testing is done and they put out a bios update.
