System Check virus

Hello,
We contracted System Check virus on one of our home computers, using XP. I am trying to start in safe mode, but the first DOS screen that comes up when restarting says KEYBOARD FAILURE. Apparently they've figured out a way to render my keyboard helpless and thus prevent me from hitting F8 for safe mode. Can I get INTO safe mode any other way? What can I do now? The virus has hidden everything on my computer except itself, there is nowhere to go once it starts. I'm lost! Help!

Install Avast and start boot time scan . It can delete all viruses from your system.

And how do I install that when I can't do ANYthing except buy the virus?

IF you have an old ps2 type wired keyboard around try using it instead of a USB or wireless keyboard.

I had a wired keyboard and couldn't get into safe mode. I ended up being able to "Safe-Boot.exe" through SuperAntiSpyware and going into the DOS setup menu (F2) and changing the date to a week before. The virus was still there, but the computer didn't know it? Fought like hell to get rid of CA Anti Virus (which welcomed the problem with open arms but would not get itself or the virus OFF of my computer) and bought AVG, which I am a BIG fan of. AVG cleared out the rest of the virus and we're good to go!
