Looking for AM3 SLI!

Hey i have been having issues finding some True AM3 Sli mobo's. If anyone has any information about motherboard updates for the end of the quarter or has a mobo in mind that would be sufficient, please enlighten me! thanks for the help!

What i need is:

AM3 DDR3 w/ AT LEAST x16 dual SLI :kaola:

I know there really isnt anything , but it wont hurt to ask if anyone has heard any news lately on motherboard technology

naw lol, i mean SLI. Reason being is i like AMD and i have 2 cards sitting right now waiting for a home...(my new build) but along with it i want to get an am3 chip, but no mobo's support my NEEDS of DDR3!!

Does anyone know of any articles lately or the past year informing us of what is forseen this year or early next quarter for ddr3 / amd motherboards? meh x58's are dominating.... buying intel is like buying Nike.... worth the price, but why would you buy it if you can find something just as good/satisfying for cheaper :sol:
  5. ^ because there isn't anything that is just as good for cheaper?

infact the i7's are a steal for the market they are aimed at.
  6. dont got it i tihnk
this is all i could find =p

  8. why do you NEED ddr3?

you can sli in an am2+ mb with DDR2

long term thats not the best solution but right now its perfectly workable

an i7 w/ mobo will be around 1k..... I am wanting to run my gtx 280's sli'd prolly with a trip core... or mabye the i5 if priceis good...

**EDIT** top of the line i7 w/ mobo
  10. I don't think nvidia is going to support SLI on AMD, *cough* ATI, motherboards anymore.

forget i5, it's cheaper to get an i7 920 at microcenter and a cheap mobo.
  12. MSI has announced a 980a/DDR3 mobo
  13. Bad arse shite! Heck yea! That is what i have been waiting for. Good find on the information! I appreciate all of it! The 750a is a good low end mobo, which will be a small upgrade. But the find on the 980a am3! +5 to bat and +5 to MSI for poop on Asus! even though i am a fan of asus they screwed themselves with there 980 :oP

Would you want to spend $200 on this board ? which is about the same as the i7's will be coming to or the gigabyte ud3r x58?? which is $189
  15. meh, its an AMD thing :D

*edit* i will sit and think about it

also on the uder x58, there is no room for my SLi setup. I have two accelero xtreme gtx 280's which take of 3 slots :fou:  :p :o :D :bounce: :non: :pfff:
  17. There's this MSI AM3 750a for $100. It's only 8x/8x SLI, but might work for you.

Yea i noticed that one too when i was researching the msi 980a. I was like ***! But i think the only differences are the PCI-e x16 sli slots and the ddr3 , i forgot what the article said. It was on techpower i believe....

  19. Well this would be the sub $700 AM3/DDR3/SLI config i came out with but i suppose it possible to cut the 945 to 720BE and hit a GTX 260 perhaps?
