I've been stressing for a while on wether to get a gaming laptop or desktop, I had decided to go for the clevo m98NU with some configuration.

But now after much thought I have decided I can get a more powerful and FULLY upgradable system for cheaper, although it will lack the portability I will still be happy.

SO now it's time for desktop here are the specs that I have come up with so far, I haven't chosen a GPU or a case due to the fact I am not sure which to go with.

Pioneer blu-ray reader and dvd dl writer, £58.89
Intel i7 920, £203.75
Asus P6T Deluxe V2, £202.60
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 8, £122
1100W Coolermaster UCP1100 PSU Rev.4, £150.16
1TB Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, £68.64

What do you guys think of this?

Also can you point me in the right direction for a decent graphics card, I will spend max of £350 on one.
Case, I want it to be sleek looking but not covered in loads of stupid LEDs ¬¬ I want it to be decent in cooling and low levels of sound budget for a case would be £150 if I see sense to spend more then I will.

Also I will be overclocking my i7 to 3.5ghz, would I need an after market cooler or can I stick with the standard intel one at that clock?

Thanks in advance guys

Someone failed math class so hit up this ram instead, its 12Gb instead of 6GB for the same price, if that sells out before you can nab it, but definitely dont get the dominators, you can get a kit of cas 7 ram for less

Swap the PSU out for the corsair 750TX, its strong enough to handle 2 4890s or GTX275s

considering getting a 4890 like this one

Other than that it looks pretty good, to hit 3.5 you will need an aftermarket cooler.

Thanks for the input, I've replaced the stuff I chose with what you suggested. So how about case wise?

And which after market cooler do you reccomend?

Thanks for the help guys I will be ordering this within the week :).

Three more questions though:

1. What is the highest playable resolution I can get for crysis on this build? WIth aa and ff turned off? 1080p?

2. What sort of price range to you think I can sell my old rig for?

Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz
4Gb DDR2 1066mhz ocz reaper
Asus maximus Formula
256mb BFG 8600gts
320Gb wd
Dvd writer

Yeah you may laugh but hey I am running crysis on medium/high at 25 fps ><.

3. Any Keyboard or mouse reccomendations? Something that is decent but not covered in leds.
