Hitachi hard drive problem

Hello,
hey ya people have come accros a problem on my hardware and i would like to share it and hopefully waiting 4 a salutation ...the thing is i bought a HITACHIE hard drive of 500GD...I have an old pantium 4 pc ..which contains ATA cable and ATA ports basicalyy supporting IDE hardwares..and the new hardware i bought is SATA Hitachi hard drive ..as i said above i my pc only support IDE hardwares ...in order to supprot my SATA Hitachi hard drive i bought a ULTRA COVERTER to convert my sata to ide.After i was done converting i attached my sata Hitachi hard drive to my motherboard...the next thing i find my pc does not detects my sata Hitachi hard drive and even in the BISO the hitechie hardrive is not detected
