3.40 GHz dual core vs core 2 duo E7300 Wolfdale 2.66 Ghz

I have a 3.40 ghz dual core in my pc and am thinking about swapping it for a core 2 duo e7300 wolfdale 2.66 ghz. which would be better for performance with games.

  1. Any C2D is better than your current CPU.
  2. Which Dual Core? Are you talking about a Pentium Dual Core (ie E5200) or Pentium D? List full specs.
  3. even the pentium dual core e5200 which is 2.5 ghz will be faster than your pentium d at 3.4ghz

    Based on his post being so simplistic I would guess a Pentium D since they went that high and that he is not super tech savvy.

    So my conclusion, E7300 will be faster.
