I'm a first time pc builder. Can anyone tell me what fan will fit a socket AM3? I've looked at many fan specs, but don't want to wast time and money on a fan I can't use.

Find one of the AMDs that fits in your budget and you can't go wrong. At the cheaper end is the Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer. I use it and it works great. Prices go up from there but lots of good choices in the under $50 range.

I guess I should have asked this earlier, but you are OC'ing since you're asking for better cooling solutions? If you aren't, then just use the HSF that comes with the CPU.
Well, maybe the best way to do this is either a new thread in the homebuilt section, or just edit or add a post using the Animal's link in my sig for format. It provides us with info we need to offer you the best advise. It's hard to know whats appropriate without more info.
Please provide all the info in the Animals link. You have a GPU that doesn't need nearly 750ws of power, so something is unbalanced. We'll help you out. If you do start a new thread in the homebuilt section, provide the link in this thread.

The pricing game is nothing more than an exercise unless you're ready to buy sooner than later. Prices will vary, combos/rebates will expire, product stock will change. So this process should be done again just before you buy. But for now, this will ball park a system for you.
You've also give a very large budget range. For $822 amir right now, you could get a 955x4, 5770, 4gigs ram, case, 700w PSU, 790GX mobo, good HSF, HDD and Windows 7. That would be a pretty kicking system on your 1920x1080 monitor. For the sake of the exercise, heres a middle of budget build i put together for you:
Amir delivered and with a free 4gb flash drive $822
This system would be ready for a second 5770 after prices drop a bit or if you want to spend upto the $1k now, you could buy it. Or replace it with a 5850 if you could find one.
Don't do the hybrid CF, its not worth it. You'll get no performance on a 1920x1080 monitor for gaming. The ram you picked is also very much overpriced. The ram I have in the combo is CAS 7 also and much cheaper. The speed doesn't mean anything once you get to 1333. Also runs on just 1.5v.
