I have just built my new HTPC and was really looking forward to stunning blu ray via the HDMI output on my 4870x2 card (and hope that it will actually produce this effect after I make the necc. changes). I have the card hooked up to a DVI Asus Monitor with 1080p support and the HDMI dongle is connected to my Pioneer 5020. After struggeling a great deal with the HDMI audio fix I am now trying to fix the slight flutter in the middle of my video playback on the Pioneer 5020. There are no video problems on the Asus DVI display when I use Powerdvd or Arcsoft Total Media Theatre. The flutter appears on the Asus LCD when I use Nero Showtime. The flutter/interlacing/deinterlacing problem is on the big screen with no matter what software I use to play the hd rips. And this appears to only be a problem when playing hi def video (blu ray and hd dvd rips-these are actual rips, not downloads). I do not appear to have any issues on the Pioneer when gaming (could be due to the lower native resolution of the pc game being a dvd maybe?)
I have the following setup:
Vista 64bit
Asus P6t motherboard
Intel core i7 920
ATI 4870x2
Everything has been updated with the latest drivers (to my knowledge).
Again, my 2 displays-Asus DVI full 1080p monitor and Pioneer 5020 plasma. I am pretty sure the plasma's refresh rate is 60Hz? and the catalyst control center says the Asus monitor can go as high as 75hz, but is set at 60hz.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
