http://blogs.amd.com/play/2009/09/11/ati-catalyst-99-driver-everything-you-want-to-know-and-why-you-should-care/
ATI CatalystTM 9.9 Driver has no new features but does have the following resolved issues:

Anti-Aliasing support for Ghostbusters
ATI CrossFireXTM support for Resident Evil 5
Graphics corruption fix for Sims 3
ATI CatalystTM Control Center - Basic mode now responds appropriately after exiting Quick Adjust Video Settings
Edge enhancement and de-noise sliders in ATI Catalyst Control Center no longer lags or appears out of sync with mouse movement
Launching Hotkeys Manager in ATI Catalyst Control Center no longer causes an unhandled exception error
The “Desktop Rotation” page in ATI Catalyst Control Center no longer shows additional information for the second display when the secondary adapter is connected
HDMI is now detected properly as DTV (HDMI) instead of DTV (DVI) when the HDMI display is hotplugged for the first time
ATI Catalyst Control Center no longer displays error message when specific HDMI displays are hot unplugged and hotplugged back
Intermittent failures no longer occur with Cyberlink MediaShow Espresso once a transcoding process has been completed

No problem :) how is your FPS in games ? compared to CAT 9.8?

Thanks for the link :)

Whenever I startup my PC it says Catalyst Control Centra has stopped working. Anybody know any solutions to it?

Thanks for the heads up.

jv1993, try uninstalling CCC and then Reinstalling it. If you have a registry cleaner, run in after uninstalling CCC (and then reinstall CCC, obviously). When did it stop working and was it working before?

Thanks for the quick response, I'll try out your suggestion right now. It has not ever worked for me, I just installed it a few minutes ago.

Well, I'd suggest starting a new thread asking this, listing full specs, when you built/got the system, etc. You may have more of a problem than a simple bad install (and we don't want to hijack this thread.)

I installed catalyst 9.9 on my HD4870 1GB DDR5 yesterday.
Before that I could play Assassin's Creed in above 60fps but now it only shows 28 frames per second.
So I rolled back the driver and it got fixed.

No problem with assassin's creed here on 3 4890s, try reinstalling the game it might help.

Does anyone think that the only reason they released these drivers is so that they can release the catalyst 10.0 drivers with the 5xxx series? Seems to be all BS "bug" fixes to me.

Well, the next set should only be 9.10 (10 => 2010 and 10.0 is the infintesimally small time between December 31st and Jan 1st) unless you are saying they are changing their number scheme for the 5000 series, which is possible.

My results:

I would say those results are all within the margin of error, so 9.9 brings no FPS improvements.
