Is there anything I am missing, should I get a Xigmatek cooler (heard good things about this brand) and if so which one? Any changes I can make to lower the price but still keep performance fairly high or even higher the price a bit but give better performance? GTX 275 with possible SLI option in the future a good choice or can I go with a dual GTS 250 SLI? Should I just use the Windows 7 RC and not bother with buying Vista? Also if you are suggesting a new product please link through newegg.ca and not newegg.com.

Dont get the P6T SE and an nVidia card, it only supports crossfire so you are hurting your upgrade options there. You can switch up to the P6T and stick with the nVidia but it will cost you a bit, or you can go for a 4890 which will give you the same performance for less and provide an option for crossfire in the future

Also consider dropping the 500GB caviar black for either a 640GB caviar black or a 500GB samsung F3 with a 500GB platter.

suggestions :
a 650 watt psu will be plenty for your build . only use the 750 watt if you will definitely sli/crossfire a pair of GTX 275's

Also consider the radeon 4890 which has identical performance and is usually cheaper

the seagate 7200.12 or samsung F3 500 gig hard drives are faster

if you are not overclocking then th standard cpu cooler will work fine

Now the 650W Corsair is only $5 less, should I just keep the 750W or can someone recommend a good 650W one? Can someone recommend a good power supply, I am not 100% sure about crossfiring the 4890 but I most likely will in the future if I run into performance issues with the newer games that come out.

I'll go with the switching HD idea and take the

I think I'll take the HD 4890 advice and crossfire with another 4890 in the future if need be. The current MOBO i picked is fine for this option right?
which HD 4890 should i get?

do u really want i7??
cuz i thought u could save some money on cpu, get 775 quad maybe, overclock it, and spend more money on gpu, (if u r a gamer, and not do any thing that uses cpu too much)
August 23, 2009 2:36:20 AM

Why? A 4890 can play most things on high why does he need to spend more on the GPU. And may i ask why are you suggesting older tech that no longer has upgrade potential? He has the budget for top tech right now, why should he get older tech that doesnt perform nearly as well?

The 4890 i listed is higher clocked than any but the MSI, but it will exhaust heat out the back unlike the MSI and is significantly less, it is definitely the one i would go for.

Imho you should get this HDD from WD, it is the same price but it is 640gb in size.

I would stay with the Corsair 750TX PSU, since as you say it is only $5.00 more and if you ever decide to go SLI/Crossfire you will not have to upgrade to a higher watt PSU.

Yes you should would get the Xigmatek CPU Cooler.

You can also save some more money, by using NewEgg Combo Deals.

Hope this helped you out some. :)

The F3 (as stated by Outlander and hunter) is faster than the WD Black. Also in regards to your question about the RC, it's no longer available for download.

would a dual HD4890 crossfired compare to a dual gtx 275 SLI?
August 23, 2009 5:58:29 AM

the 4890 and the GTX275 perform very similarly in single and dual card setups, there wont be much of a difference between them but the 4890 tends to come out significantly cheaper. But for now one should do fine for you then you can move onto a second when one no longer cuts it.
August 23, 2009 6:17:07 AM

Im planning to buy a 21-22inch 2ms monitor so taking max resolution into consideration it would still be a good idea to get the 4890? Or due to my monitor would it be wiser to get a lower video card like the 4870 and have the option to crossfire it in the future as well.

Looks OK.

The ASUS P6T SE is junk, get the regular P6T. The SE has too much stuff stripped out. i recc the gigabyte x58-ud4p for 239$ after rebate from newegg (what I am using)

I initially bought some OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB), and ended up returning it because it would not work properly on my x58-ud4p above 1068mhz (OCZ forums were useless, looks like they need a rev.2 of this stuff). Get some G.skill 1600mhz triple channel(which I have), or if you can spare the cash - Muskin triple channel stuff.

I prefer pioneer over samsung for dvd-rws, but samsung is ok too.

Get the 4890, not much more than a 4870 1gb and its a better card.

If your going to overclock, get an aftermarket cooler like a coolmaster v8 for 55$ @newegg.

I would get a 1TB over a 500gb HD for the extra 30$

I disagree with almost everything you said.

If your going to overclock, get an aftermarket cooler like a coolmaster v8 for 55$ @newegg. The V8 is rubbish compared to newer coolers look at the Cogage spirit, it's $40 and owns every air cooler out there.

I would get a 1TB over a 500gb HD for the extra 30$ The 500GB .12 is faster because it uses a 500GB platter, and some people don't need 1TB of storage

August 23, 2009 3:48:57 PM

Yeah the V8 is rubbish... i would say the xigmatek dark knight or the scythe mugen-2 are very good cpu coolers for the i7.

I wish i ordered a spinpoint f3 =[ . I got a 640gb caviar black.... but the f3 is only like $55 so i might order one later XD
August 23, 2009 3:51:19 PM

^ yeah the spinpoint's are awesome, I'll probably get a 1.5TB one when I run out of space on this 500GB caviar black.
