I would not get the evga x58 personally, have had too many problems with their old nforce 750i ftw

I had that ocz gold kit, would not work properly above 1066 on my x58-ud4p, so i exchange it for some g.skill 1600mhz .

So many people recommend that ram.

You can never go wrong with Corsair memory or power supply.
Never had experience with EVGA motherboards.
I would consider something other than the V8. Its expensive and not rated very well.

drop the VRaptor, the Samsung F3's are faster and hold more, and they're cheaper too.

drop the V8, the Cogage TRUE spirit beats it and only costs $40.

I just spent the last 30 mins googling those F3's and can't find a good comparison chart. They seem almost too good to be true. I could get 4 of those for the price of 1 Vraptor. Thanks for the tips. This is what I was looking for.

just my 2 cents the velociraptors are based on old tech they like almost 3 yrs old already the f3's were launched only a few weeks ago

Ok F3 it is. I just need a good gpu now. I was told the one I picked doesn't have an aftermarket cooler and runs too hot. Any similar suggestions in $150 range?

I would actually not get the Corsair Dominators. I would go for the OCZ Platinum 1600 6GB over them. They are about the same price now and have a lower CAS of 7.

As for the gpu you can't go wrong with a HD4890 or gtx 275 for your resolution. Then you can upgrade to the DX11 cards when they come out.

I would recommend scythe mugen-2 or a xigmatek dark knight for a core i7 cpu cooler. But i guess that thermalright cpu cooler works.

I got a XFX 4870 1GB from ewiz.com for $123 after bing cashback
they also sell the XFX 4870 XXX edition 1GB for $134 after bing cashback

Well, looks like I'm almost ready to order. I'll wait til tomorrow just in case someone finds a big flaw. I looked at that OCZ Platinum ram at newegg. It's a little faster yes but also a little less stable and needs tweaking some times. I've never done ANY overclocking so that's too intimidating to possibly have to tweak it immediately. The Corsairs are a safer bet for me. All of the reviews from people with my motherboard say it popped in and worked perfectly at 1600 out of the box. Good suggestion for a more experienced builder I think. I'm scurred.
