  2. If stable and temperature cool is good overclock

how? hes over intels max rated voltage and his volts are above what he should have to run.

you should only have to run in the neighborhood of 1.485volts at the speed.

the formula for voltage is roughly .03x where x is your multiplier. that is just a rough estimate but at around 48 its 1.425 +- .03 for every 100mhz up or down.
  4. What is a good safe overclock for gtx 580 sli??? MY asus deluxe z68 does it automatically to 4.4 ghz with turbo-v because I dont want any restraints put on my gpu's or cpu and /or vice versa but I dont want my PC to go tit's up :)

Dude step down on them voltages. Pass 1.485 is pretty dangerous for a 24/7 OC and might damage the CPU on a long turn basis.

I'm currently on 4.3GHz with stock voltages and don't go pass it since there's really no more benefits I'm getting in games.
  6. yeah agreed thats quite high voltage......

unless of course you only plan to get 6 months before the CPU dies.

overclocking your cpu will not affect anything but your cpu speed. nothing else nothing more.

i suggest doing some more research before attempting to overclock anything

  9. Intel's max recommended voltage for your CPU is 1.52 volts.

At that voltage, what does running Prime95 do to your core temps? Unless you are running truly exotic cooling, I'm betting that you will be WAY past 70 C.
