hello, i'm interested in buying a new computer soon and i was thinking of building one myself but i'm inexperienced with assembling the parts so i figured i would look at some PCs from ibuypower. i saw the computer has a 9800GT and i was looking forward to building a PC with a 4890.

anyways, down to the question, is the 9800GT a good card? i believe this is the card used in the computer. heres a link of the PC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227151&cm_re=9800gt-_-83-227-151-_-Product

and here is the link of the card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150323&Tpk=9800gt

i was looking at some reviews of the 4850 and i saw the two cards are practically the same give or take a few FPS depending on the game and resolution. my main game is call of duty 4 and call of duty modernwarfare 2. i'm wondering if i can get 100+fps in these games with the 9800GT. if not whats an estimate of what i will get? 60+ atleast?

thank you

I wouldnt get anywhere near that ibuypower one, being a raidmax case it may also be a raidmax PSU.

What resolution are you planning to play at? 100+ FPS is useless unless you have a 120Hz monitor, most monitors are 60 Hz and are physically in capable of displaying more than 60FPS because of that.

The 4890 is a lot stronger but depending on your resolution you may not need it.

If you are interested in building your own make a post using the template shown here over in the home built section, im sure we can give you a build that will fit your needs better than the ibuypower one, its really not that difficult to build your own as long as you can read instructions and follow basic diagrams.

thanks for the fast reply :)

well i don't know much about resolutions since i have been playing on my PS3 for 2 years now and i want to switch back to the PC. i used to play CS 1.6 years ago and i played on 640x480 resolution there. so idk what resolutions are available.. i have a 24" asus monitor which supports pretty high resolutions. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236049

ahm i guess i might just build my own then :( ill post the build in a bit. was lookin at a 4890/550 be phenom 2/other stuff but i might cut down the graphics to a 4870 so i can buy windows 7.

my main purpose for buying this ibuypower was so i can just play some MW2 and then upgrade the graphics card later on. o_O
