The 285 is a huge waste of money. Downgrade to a gtx 275 for about $100 less and you will still see about the same performance when you OC the card.

I would also go with a 6GB kit of ram. 3GB is kinda pointless IMO. You can use the money from downgrading to a 275 to upgrade to a 6GB kit.

The PSU is fine if you have no intention of SLI or CF, otherwise get a Corsair 750tx.

For the CPU cooler I would go with the Scythe Mugen off newegg instead. It is a very good cooler for the price.

I agree with all that as well. I haven't found a 6GB set that I like very much for the price right now, but I'm still looking right now.

i would go for 6gb of ram but as i know x64 is still not popular enough for me to change to an x64 system as i use asian software that does not support that kind of OS

That build looks good but is 916 a total after tax and shipping?
another thing are you recommending me a 690 out of preference or is there any real difference between that and the illusion antec 300?
just updated the first post but the 6gb ram is definately a no
and lol most of the things you gave me are out of stock, ppl are really going crazy for these components XD

out of topic note
for a sunbeam contact cpu heatsink im supposed to mount the fan on the side of the ram and blowing to the left of the case right? just trying to make sure i made my friend's comp right ><
