My system is
intel core2duo e7300 2.66ghz
intel dg31pr mobo
2gb(2*1gb)ddr2 667mhz ram
windows xp sp3.
My problem is whenever i try to overclock even 5mhz with software like setfsb my comp slows down and then freezes into a blue screen with stop errors like kernel error,0*0000007E,irq not equal or less, etc. I have tried switching memory slots and bios reset but same problem when i watch youtube videos in internet explorer.whan should i do please help.

If your motherboard doesn't have a bios to change values, i don't encourage you to overclock.

The system you have currently works with the right voltage for the correct frequency.

SetFSB if you don't have the right model number and use the wrong one, it will crash you.

I suggest you find a program that is more compatible with your motherboard that lets you adjust voltages as well.

That would be true, CPU's don't normally crash from 5Mhz overclock like that.

I'm guessing that's the programs problem then. (SETFSB)

I don't know many programs out there aside from SETFSB, but what you could do is go on Intel's website (your motherboard maker), and find overclocking software designed for their boards.

Hopefully there will be one that supports your board's model number.

Good Luck.
